Public Speaking for Trainees
Organized by Mitzy Cowdin, UT Southwestern and Daniah Beleford, UCSF.
This event will allow trainees to hone their presentation skills by doing an impromptu presentation on a non-science topic. This interactive exercise will allow members of the crowd to help trainees build up skills that they may be lacking in a relaxed, supportive environment. The goal of this exercise is to allow trainees to figure out what works best when speaking to a large crowd and building up their skills in communicating to people not familiar with their field.
Sharpen your skills and gain confidence in this "no judgement zone" session. Talk about any topic and have fun!

During our daily Meet the PI breakfast sessions, participants will have the opportunity to pick the brains of their favorite vascular biologists. This small group format, consisting of eight attendees and two speakers per table is sure to facilitate an interactive and lively discussion to get your brain primed for the day to come!
